James Cornell was first a regular patron at Eckl's Restaurant in Orchard Park and an avid fan of their famous roast beef. In 2016 he acquired the Orchard Park business from long-time owners Dale Sr. and Shirley Eckl after the couple decided to retire. Eckl's Orchard Park continues to serve its loyal legion of Southtowns diners. Jim brings over 30 years' experience in operating diverse businesses, real estate development, mergers and acquisitions, financing and organizational leadership to the renewed Eckl's business plan. More importantly, he has decades of experience exploring hundreds of eateries around the world, and brings what he has learned through these experiences to Eckl's and your dining table.
From offices in Larkin Center of Commerce, he has led the rehabilitation and repositioning of this 1.3 million square foot historic edifice in Buffalo's Larkin District. Seeing how the Larkin District is growing, he knows that the time for the addition of a restaurant of the quality of Eckl'[email protected] has arrived.
Designed by Jim in collaboration with interior designer Beth Zulinke-Dames, Jim's vision for Eckl'[email protected] aesthetic is that of "Fresh Buffalo." Featuring raised panel cherry paneling, coffered ceilings with antiqued copper tiles, rock crystal chandeliers, faux snakeskin and other textures accentuate the venue. The extensive hammered copper bar complete a perfect setting for both casual and fine dining. All told, a perfect setting for great food and drink shared with family, friends and colleagues.
